There are a myriad of housing choices available in the North Houston Houston Intercontinental area. Numerous affordable neighborhoods are located near the area's large employment base. In addition, some new home subdivisions in the area have active construction programs. Many apartment projects, rental homes and resale market listings exist in the area.

COMMUNITIES AND SUBDIVISIONS
Easy access to the north provides the opportunity for locally-employed persons to select new homes in the large masterplanned communities of Kingwood and The Woodlands. Good access to the west allows for short commutes to such popular new home areas as Champions and Cy-Fair.

A moderate supply of resale homes exists in the Houston Intercontinental area at the present time.
The Houston Intercontinental area contains more than a large number of residences, and this inventory level includes a wide variety of housing style choices and locations from which prospective homebuyers can choose. Local resale home prices typically range from the $60,000 level to $150,000 or more. A majority of the resale transactions in the North Houston Houston Intercontinental area have been made in the $65,000 to $80,000 price range.

RENTAL HOMES
At the present time, the quantity of homes available for lease in the local area is at a low level. A few homes lease for less than $750 per month. Most of the rental homes in the local area lease in the $850 to $950 range, per month.

APARTMENTS
Numerous apartment units are located in the Houston Intercontinental area. A majority of these units are in apartment projects that have been built in some of the area's main planned developments. Among the apartment clusters associated with the planned commercial developments are City View, Houston Intercontinental, Northborough, Imperial Valley, Northpoint and Greens Crossing.
Occupancy for most of these local apartment projects is high, but a large number of units are available for lease. Most of the available apartments include one or two bedrooms. Some efficiency and three-bedroom units are also available.
Most of the monthly apartment lease rates are in the $400 to $600 range in the local area. Two-bedroom units typically lease for $600 to $650 per month.
